ABOUT

My Approach

Meet Darcy

From a young age, I knew I was meant to be a therapist. I grew up in a loving but complicated home. My parents, both survivors of trauma and alcoholism, created a welcoming family where everyone felt at home. Still, beneath the warmth, there were secrets and emotional burdens that shaped me deeply. From a young age, I was the “professional friend,” the confidant, the peacekeeper—and later, entangled in adult problems no child should have to hold. When my parents divorced after 52 years of marriage, our family fractured, and I understood firsthand how deeply relationships impact our lives.

Despite this, I married my husband at the young age of 23. I was really scared, and had planned on marrying later in life due to my personal experience, but we kept growing and growing together, and - we loved each other. For 35 years, we’ve worked hard to build a marriage that is honest, real, and conscious. Like all long-term partnerships, it has had its challenges, but the work has always been worth it. From what I have learned through my training as an RTM Professional, we have been able to deepen our marriage even more, setting an even better  legacy for our children and future generations.

Research shows that the greatest source of happiness at the end of life isn’t money or success, but the quality of our primary relationship. That truth—and my lifelong curiosity about love, marriage, and healing—has driven me as a therapist.

The Relationship Theory Model (RTM). RTM is a structured, direct, and highly effective 12-stage process that helps individuals and couples create real breakthroughs. I knew immediately I had found the missing piece in my training once I discovered RTM. Today, I’m honored to be one of a small group of therapists training directly with Jourdan  and her team. This work has  transformed my practice and my own marriage and family.

Attachment Theory and neuroscience form the foundation of RTM. Together, they’ve helped me heal my own shame and rewire old patterns. I now bring the same hope and possibility to the individuals and couples I serve.

I’m deeply grateful for this journey. With my personal experience, the wisdom of age, and the courage built from a 35-year strong marriage, I help individuals heal old wounds and couples strengthen their connection—because when we heal within ourselves and in our relationships, our whole lives thrive even more.

A Collaborative Approach to Your Growth

This work is designed to be both supportive and collaborative. While I will guide you through your therapy journey as your primary therapist and coach, you will also have the opportunity to engage with teachings and trainings from RTM founder, Jourdan Blue, LMFT.

These resources are thoughtfully integrated to deepen your understanding of the work, reinforce what we explore in sessions, and help you continue your growth between appointments.
